The work

A quiet piece of landscape to carry with you.

Fell & Forge began with ridgelines, but the work reaches further than mountains. Coast, moorland and weathered stone. Old marks cut into buildings that outlived the people who made them. The night sky over a dark field in winter. Every piece is designed in York, cast in sterling silver and hand-finished in my workshop.

The maker

Everything here is designed and finished by one pair of hands.

Portrait of Alistair MacLeod, founder of Fell & Forge.

I am Alistair, founder and designer. Fell & Forge works out of a small workshop in York. The work starts with somewhere real, a hill, a coast path or an old building, and ends at the bench with a file in my hand.

It is a growing body of work rather than a catalogue. Rings and silver are where it sits now. There is a lot more to come.

What a rough casting looks like

A ring arrives from the casting partner still on its sprue, its surface textured by the mould. All of that gets worked away.

A quiet northern ridge in low winter light, mist settling across the valley below a wide, clean horizon.
